CBB is proud to announce that our lighting design for the Stony Brook University MART and Children’s Hospital has won a 2022 Lumen Award of Excellence. The project refreshes the visual identity of the University’s medical school campus with welcoming, comfortable lighting inspired by the tranquil strength of nature’s forms. 

 

A Lumen Committee chairperson noted that the jury was unanimous in its commendation of the project’s lighting design for this top award. One judge, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects Partner Richard Southwick, stated: “The lighting for this incredible project has more personalities than Sybil, and an appropriate mood for every patient’s need. Soothing, dynamic, inviting, even changeable along the handsome façade, the project demonstrates the skillful hand of the practitioner, enhancing the experience of the ultimate and grateful user.”
