Archtober 2015: CBB “Buildings of the Day”

CBB’s lighting design is again represented in the 2015 Archtober “Building of the Day” calendar.  Now in its fifth year, the AIA New York Section’s month-long celebration of NYC architecture has featured multiple CBBLD projects annually since the festival’s 2011 inception.   Archtober 2015 highlights two more CBB projects:

  • Bronx Community College North Hall and Library (shown at left) – CBB’s lighting is a key design element of this 98,600 SF, LEED Silver building – the first new structure to be added to the Stanford White-designed campus in almost a century.  The lighting design honors the school’s architectural history while embracing modern learning methods in a welcoming, user-friendly environment.
  • The Collaborative Research Center at The Rockefeller University (shown at right) – a biomedical research complex made up of two historic laboratory buildings linked by a new, seven-story “bridge” structure housing conference and informal gathering spaces.  CBB’s lighting design meets the technical standards required in the labs, while highlighting the glazed bridge building’s openness and elegance.
