CBB designed the lighting for all public and amenity spaces at 15 Hudson Yards, a high-end residential tower on Manhattan’s West Side. The building’s numerous lobbies and its 28,000 SF of amenities evoke the ambience of a five-star hotel.

A layered lighting solution in the 25’ high condominium lobby imparts a sense of luxury. This arrival point features a travertine wall, whose pleats are illuminated with linear strips. Cleverly detailed into the walls to avoid a direct view of the LEDs, these fixtures can be released off a magnetic strip for easy maintenance. A monumental painting is highlighted using small pinhole fixtures, worked into a discreet pattern that also illuminates the lobby’s seating areas.

The same layered approach extends to the amenities. Ambient lighting is meticulously detailed and integrated into a cove at the window. This perimeter solution works with carefully placed pinhole fixtures to produce a warm glow. Decorative fixture accents add a comfortable, “living-room” feel, completing the lighting composition.

To realize the architect’s vision for the pool, we worked with lighting manufacturers to source special fixtures that would withstand a natatorium environment.

Throughout its lobbies and amenity areas, the tower’s lighting conveys gracious living that provides both comfort and elegance.
