WESTSTAR TOWER

El Paso, TX

In the heart of El Paso, where the US-Mexico border meets a vibrant cityscape, stands the LEED-certified WestStar Tower, a beacon of innovation and connection. This towering landmark, the first high-rise to grace El Paso’s skyline in 40 years, is illuminated by a unique exterior feature – an elegant, glowing fin that ascends both sides of the tower and crowns its roof. This luminous element symbolizes the bond between two nations, casting a warm, inviting glow that is visible from every angle.

As the fin’s cove lighting seamlessly transitions into the lobby, it dissolves the boundaries between the exterior and interior, creating a harmonious flow of light. The lobby is a white core that appears as if it has been gently inserted into the building’s base. A sandstone wall, highlighted by a perimeter grazing slot, pays homage to the desert landscape that surrounds the city, bringing El Paso’s natural beauty indoors.

At the base of the tower, the parking garage comes alive with color-changing lighting controlled by DMX technology, transforming the space into a vibrant canvas for holidays and special events. This dynamic lighting not only enhances the tower’s presence but also infuses the city skyline with a new sense of exuberance and vitality.

The WestStar Tower’s lighting design is more than just illumination; it is a celebration of El Paso’s growth, revitalization, and the spirit of connection that defines this border city. It stands as a testament to the power of light to transform spaces, evoke emotions, and inspire a sense of community and pride.
