The renovation of Stocking Hall and construction of a new food science teaching and research facility creates a new, integrated presence for Food Science on Cornell University’s campus. This multi-faceted project includes full renovation of the existing, 48,000 square foot building, and the construction of a 79,000 square foot laboratory building and a 23,000 square foot dairy plant.

Cline Bettridge Bernstein designed the lighting for all public spaces (entries, lobby, a gallery, corridors, toilets and a glass-enclosed stairway), academic spaces (specialized and multi-purpose classrooms and laboratories), and offices and up-to-date conference facilities on three of the building’s five floors, including a conference center for larger groups, as well as exterior lighting for the three buildings and their landscaped site.

The lighting of this important project is a critical factor in creating a modern, user-friendly and attractive development – one that will keep Cornell University at the forefront of food science and discovery.
