MINNEAPOLIS CENTRAL LIBRARY
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Transparency, openness and light define library’s design, in a city known for its gray days and cold winters. A dual system of fixed ambient light elements attached to the ceiling is creatively combined with furniture-integrated lighting to achieve a unique character in each area, while maintaining maximal flexibility for varying uses. The lighting both fulfills the functional demands of a library, and transforms the building into an inviting, comfortable and vital city landmark.
