DUKE INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE

This modern center, one of the first of its kind, combines conventional and alternative health treatments. As befits a program where nature and technology coexist, the center’s nurturing, non-clinical environment is sustainably designed and LEED® certified.

Lighting defines the center’s spaces and orients users within them. In many areas, light is used to evoke a mood or emotional response. In the interior meditation room, for example, lighting can be varied for a range of settings, from bright and airy to peaceful and contemplative.

The center’s lighting supports its mission: to approach healthcare as a holistic endeavor embracing the mind, body and spirit.
