Lighting Design for NCSU’s Student Union

The first phase of the newly expanded Talley Student Union at North Carolina State University opened in early 2014.  CBBLD’s lighting design for this facility, which was designed by Duda/Paine Architects of Durham, North Carolina and Cooper Carry & Associates of Atlanta, Georgia, meets the project’s energy target for an anticipated LEED Silver certification and provides a bright, welcoming environment for students to meet, study, dine or relax.

The first phase of the project includes a lounge area, two dining facilities, ballroom, pre-function and meeting room spaces, a student senate chamber, administrative offices and a landscaped exterior commons.  The second phase, scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2015, will include the main bookstore, an atrium, another restaurant venue and additional meeting and office spaces.
